Uncompromising quality and a legacy of craftsmanship.

Prior to opening my own upholstery shop I was a wood worker who created custom built in furniture and provided trim carpentry services, learning those trades from my Uncle Ed, a Newfoundlander, who learned his trade from his father Malcolm, building wooden boats and houses in Newfoundland Canada and then New Jersey after he emigrated to the US.

I’ve been in the upholstery trade for nearly twenty years now and also do marine canvas work as well as design and manufacture sewn products. My grandmother taught me how to use her Singer 99K when I was in High School when I wanted to make outdoor gear for myself, funny how some of the skills we learn early in life come back to help us later.

I see myself as a craftsman and artisan, I don’t cut corners to get a job out the door as fast as possible, if a piece needs a bit more attention, it gets it, to insure it’s done right. I don’t hire low skilled and low wage labor to do my work, anything you bring to my shop is done by me.

I am originally from New York where I started repairing furniture as a side business to fill in my time between jobs when not working in film & TV production. I have lived in Arizona since 2001.
